GIMHAE NATIONAL MUSEUM

About Us

Greeting

Located on the hills of Gujibong Peak, a site associated with the founding myth of Gaya, Gimhae National Museum opened its doors on July 29, 1998 as an archaeological museum dedicated to preserving and exhibiting the history and culture of the Gaya Kingdom.

In addition to carrying out an array of cultural projects and programs, Gimhae National Museum also serves a vital role as a research center, providing accurate information and breathing new life into the rich history and culture of Gaya.

Our two floors of exhibition halls are packed with fascinating insights into the prehistoric culture that flourished around the lower reaches of the Nakdonggang River and the ensuing history and culture of Gaya. In addition to our permanent exhibitions, we also regularly organize special exhibitions on various themes, provide lifelong education classes for adults, and present an array of education programs in association with our Children’s Museum.

Gimhae National Museum humbly asks for your continuing interest and support as we strive to serve our community by offering cultural knowledge, emotional healing, and warm hospitality to all of our visitors.

Thank you very much.

Sincerely,
Yun Hyeung-won
Director of Gimhae National Museum
