Go See the < World Heritage Gaya >
Established on July 29, 1998, the Gimhae National Museum is a national cultural institution that specializes in archaeology with a focus on the history and culture of Gaya, our displays are composed of excavated artifacts by the Remains-Excavation-Survey. Over the last three years, the museum has completely renovated its permanent exhibition, and on January 22, 2024, the new "World Heritage Gaya" exhibition was opened. The "Gaya" brand gained international recognition on September 17, 2023, when the 45th World Heritage Committee named the Gaya tombs in seven regions (Gimhae, Haman, Goseong, Hapcheon, Changnyeong, Goryeong, and Namwon) as World Heritage sites.
A video of New Technology Convergent Contents will be shown at the main building's entrance as part of the permanent exhibition, "World Heritage Gaya." Next up are the first floor's "The Road to Gaya" (Time Exhibition), and the second floor's "Gaya and Gaya People" (Thematic Exhibition). The contents of the exhibition will consist of Part 1: "Lives and Cultures of the People Before Gaya", Part 2: "Dawn of Gaya", Part 3: "Development of Gaya", Part 4: "The Spread of Silla Culture", Part 5: "Style and Taste of Gaya", Part 6: "Lives of the Gaya People", Part 7: "The Beauty of Flowing Lines, Gaya Pottery", Part 8: "Gaya, A Kingdom of Iron", Part 9: "Gaya, A Kingdom of the Seas" and Part 10: "Gaya Studies Archive." Gayanuri, the social education center, has a children's museum, a doll theater, and a lounge on the first floor, and a special exhibition room on the second floor. From May 2 this year (Thursday), a special exhibition titled “Baekje Masterpiece, Baekje Pattern Exhibition” will be held, and from October 8 (Tuesday), a special exhibition “Hittite” also be held through international exchange between Korea and Turkiye in Gimhae. The Auditorium Square offers various programs for children, parents, and the elderly, including performances, academic conferences, and events.
