Since 2018, the Gimhae National Museum has been hosting an annual Gaya webtoon contest. The contest has been praised for providing an opportunity for a younger generation to develop creative cultural content that breathes life into the history and culture of the Gaya Confederacy, something that can sometimes seem boring or rigid to young people.

The special exhibition 'Gaya Webtoon in Gimhae Airport' was held in celebration of the inscription of Gaya Tumuli on the UNESCO World Heritage list. It recounts stories of Gaya themed around its cultural heritage, including the Gaya Tumuli, as told by webtoon artists. The exhibition features twelve digital cartoons selected from among the winners of the third, fourth, and fifth Gaya Webtoon contests jointly organized by the World Heritage Nomination Office for Gaya Tumuli and the local governments of Haman-gun and Goryeong-gun.
