The special exhibition Gaya Webtoon Playground is being held in celebration of the inscription of the Gaya Tumuli on the UNESCO World Heritage list.

Since 2018, the Gimhae National Museum has hosted annual webtoon contests on the theme of Gaya Confederacy cultural heritage and the museum. The prize-winning works from these Gaya webtoon contests digitally illustrate Gaya cultural heritage based on the artists’ imagination, creativity, and talent.

The history and culture of the Gaya Confederacy may seem boring to some, but it has been reimagined into new yet somehow familiar stories in the hands of these artists. The webtoons offer us a chance to imagine fresh stories of Gaya, a familiar ancient confederacy.

We hope you can enjoy yourself as you learn about the history and culture of Gaya through hands-on experiences and coloring activities in the Gaya Webtoon Playground.
